At Capula, our greatest asset is our people. Scroll down this page to meet a number of our colleagues from across continents and departments.
MFin – Princeton University
I joined Capula’s Strategy team in 2016 after completing my masters in finance. The broad array of research areas covered by the Strategy team allowed me to leverage my coursework along with prior work experience at the Federal Reserve to assist in front office decision making. Subsequently in 2018, I was given the opportunity to join the frontend trading team. Joining a trading team has been a perfect fit, which has placed me at the intersection of my interests in research and markets.
Euro Rates Trader, London
BSc in Mathematics – University of Bath
I started in Operations where I covered the US shift and learned a good deal about various asset classes we trade. Shortly afterwards I moved into the Risk team which is responsible for monitoring and ensuring the integrity of the market risk exposures of the funds. We also monitor the liquidity and financing risk affecting the funds.
After 3.5 years working as a Senior Risk Analyst, I have recently moved onto the EUR RV Trading Desk.
Compliance Associate, London
LLB – University of Westminster
I joined the firm in Admin but I had many opportunities to learn and grow, and I was rapidly promoted to a role in Compliance, where I support both the London and the US Chief Compliance Officers.
Working across different departments has allowed me to gain knowledge and understanding of the firm as a whole.
The culture and the values at Capula are unique compared to any other firm.
Treasury and Cash Management Specialist, London
BSc in Physics – Imperial College
Following a Teach First Internship, I joined the Operations Control Team where I worked on a multitude of cash related processes. As a former Science teacher, my learning curve was steep; however, I was given excellent opportunities for growth and development. I have subsequently moved to join the Treasury team, where I take a more active role, in optimising the cash investments of the Fund.
Partner, Trading, Hong Kong
BS in Mathematics – MIT
I started out in Capula in 2009 in Tokyo. Since then, I have worked in three countries, and across a variety of markets and strategies. This has been constantly challenging, but the learning and growth opportunities have been enormous.
While Capula values individualism, its teams also work well in a collaborative manner. Ideas and analysis are freely shared across the firm and differences in opinions are respected.
I am a FX Volatility trader in our London Office. Having joined the firm in September 2017 as a Capula Entry Level Training Analyst (CELT) after finishing my Masters in Finance, I spent 2 years rotating across multiple trading desks and geographical locations, gaining exposure to various markets and trading strategies. I initially started with Macro trading, focussing on Credit and Commodities in the US office. I then moved to London where I spent the next 1.5 years trading Equity, FX and Rates volatility. I leveraged my quantitative background along with my prior work experience in an investment bank to find the perfect fit for me in the derivatives space.
US Rates Trader, Greenwich, CT
M.Eng, Computer Science – MIT
I came to Capula as an interest rate trader from an investment bank in 2013. I quickly learned to appreciate that Capula is built around small, fast-moving teams yet still encourages collaboration across all parts of the firm. When I have an idea for an improvement, I know it will be heard and taken seriously.
Being at such a flexible firm allows me to combine my knowledge of interest rate markets with my quantitative background in computer science to come up with better solutions.
Investor Relations Director, Greenwich, CT
BA in Economics – Fordham University
Having spent over 20 years in alternative asset management, I can honestly say that Capula is a top notch firm.
I am responsible for all aspects of Investor relations in the Americas and I need to work hard and wear many hats, but I love the fact that I am challenged every day in different ways.
My colleagues are a pleasure to work with – it is refreshing to see how approachable and helpful everyone is.
